BWE 2010 Gold Nugget Shiraz

The 2010 Bendigo Wine Estate Shiraz is a hand crafted wine from our vineyard near Axedale in Central Victoria. The wine maker has used a whole bunch and gentle crushing method before transferring the wine to French and American oak barrels. The wine was neither fined nor filtered prior to bottling. The crown seal closure has been used so that the full flavour of this wine is expressed.

This wine will reward careful cellaring for up to 15 years

BWE 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon

This Cabernet Sauvignon was produced from fruit from the Bendigo Wine Estate vineyards in the Bendigo region of Victoria. The wine was partially barrel fermented in French oak while a portion was cold soaked and fermented in stainless steel before 20 days extended maceration, then matured in the French oak for eighteen months. Intense purple red colour. Blackberry, plum and fruit cake aromas. An elegant palate is focused and balanced and the fresh plum and prune fruit flavours are interlaced with a fine chalky tannin structure. A rich cassis and liquorice mid palate progresses to vanilla and is supported with integrated oak.

This Merlot was produced from fruit from our Bendigo Wine Estate vineyard in the Bendigo Wine Region of Victoria.

This rich, generous Merlot vibrant red-purple colour is the first sign of its intensity. Aromas of complex red and dark berry fruit are complemented by spice and earth. These follow through to the plush, generous palate which shows sweet fruit and a great persistence and length. An interesting, complex and generous example of this often underrated variety.

The fruit for our 2011 Bendigo Wine Estate Shiraz was sourced solely from our 40 hectare vineyard which is situated near Axedale in Central Victoria.

Winemaking at Bress Winery involved whole bunch and gently crushed fruit slowly fermented in open fermenters combined with regular hand plunging. Post pressing malolactic fermentation was in a combinations of new and older French and American oak hogsheads. The wine was neither fined or filtered prior to bottling.

The wine exhibits fruit aromas and flavours of black fruits. These are complimented by oak characters of vanillin and spices. These finely grained tannins have produced a wine of generous structure and balance ready to drink now or to cellar for up to six years.

The fruit for our 2012 Bendigo Wine Estate Cabernet/Merlot was sourced solely from our vineyard near Axedale in the Bendigo Wine Region.

Bright red in colour, this Cabernet/Merlot displays intense berry aromas, pure blackcurrant predominant complimented by spiece and floral notes. These follow on the palate with hints of darker berries at the front, followed by mouth filling fuit. Plenty of fine tannins and acidity demonstrate the age worthiness of this wine.

BWE 2009 Shiraz

This Shiraz was produced from the fruit from the Bendigo Wine Estate vineyard in the Bendigo region. The wine was barrel fermented in one year old French oak hogsheads and matured in the same oak for twelve months.

Purple red, intense colour. Blackberry, clove and violet aromas. The full palate is balanced with vanillin oak; plum and blackberry fruit flavours are interlaced with fine soft tannins and clove spice characters. Cellar potential five to ten years.
